Monday, March 19, 2018 Communication Studies held a public lecture for force in 2017 at Amphi Theater Building E6 University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. In this general lecture take the theme of Marketing in Old Age and Now with the title of Strategic Selling Skills. The speaker who attended was one of the alumni of Communication Studies students who now works as senior sales marketing automotive dealers in Yogyakarta.
The difference in sales in the old and the present times is very different, can be seen based on intergenerational lifestyles, the use of technology, and demographics, explains Awal Patria. Where the characteristic differences in each generation makes the marketing must have its own way of approach in offering products. In addition, a marketing must also have a sense of sensitivity, more curiosity, and able to make prospective customers or customers comfortable. More curiosity is meant here more refers to the process of qualifying, where marketing must know how to explore information needs of a consumer.
The key to being a marketing is, to be a good listener, communicative, but still maintain the attitude, said Awal Patria.
